ASHERS

ASHERS was formed in 2007. Mark Civitarese (singer of THE UNSEEN) and Billy Brown (singer/guitarist for CRASH AND BURN) had spent years playing shows together and appearing on each other's recordings, and the idea was born to make a band that would have elements of both, but would be a new take on heavy punk. Drawing on influences such as BLACK FLAG, MOTORHEAD, FILTH, and countless other thrash, rock, and punk bands. the two, now joined by Joe Packard on bass, set out to write and record the songs that would end up on the COLD DARK PLACE ep (welfare records/concrete jungle records). After a brief tour and some local shows, the line up was complete with the addition of Justin Brooks and Casey Rivera, on rhythm guitar and drums, respectively. The band has Just finished a 7 week long tour that took them all over the US and Canada, and have shared stages with bands such as TSOL, DROPKICK MURPHYS, BLACK PRESIDENT, STRIKE ANYWHERE, STREET DOGS and YOUTH BRIGADE to name a few. ASHERS has shown that they put on a relentless live show with the band playing themselves into exhaustion every single time they take the stage.  The band is now working on it's debut full length, and a split 7" with BLACK PRESIDENT. ASHERS will be heading across the country again in July with ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE, as well as a European tour in the early fall.
